Public housing in Japan is divided into three types: the UR (Urban Renaissance Agency) apartments, prefectural housing and Municipal housing.
Features of UR Apartments are as follows.
1. No Agency Commission, No Key Money, No Renewal Fee
No need to pay agency commission, renewal fee nor Key money (“Reikin”). Damage Deposit called “Shikikin” is required ( 3 months rent ).
2. No Guarantor (Hoshonin)
No need to have a guarantor as you would with many real estate agencies in Japan.
